How We Build Sustainable Activewear — One Recycled Roll at a Time

Why sustainability is no longer optional

A pair of leggings is worn for hundreds of workouts — but the fabric it's made from can take centuries to return to the earth. As a factory that produces activewear for brands around the world, we see that responsibility clearly. Every yard of fabric we cut, every batch of dye we run, and every garment we stitch is a decision about what happens next.

Sustainability, for us, is not a marketing badge. It's the slow, unglamorous work of choosing better materials, wasting less, and being honest about where we still have work to do.

1. Starting with the yarn

Our journey begins with the fabric mill.

  • Recycled performance fibres: We work with rPET (recycled polyester made from plastic bottles) and recycled nylon that deliver the same 4-way stretch, buttery hand-feel and squat-proof opacity as virgin fibres — without the virgin petroleum input.
  • Low-impact dyeing: Wherever possible, we use water-based inks, low-temperature dyeing and dyehouses that treat and recycle their water.
  • Composition honesty: Every product page lists exactly what the fabric is made of. We don't label a product "eco" just because it's grey.

2. Cutting waste out of the pattern room

The biggest environmental impact in apparel often happens before sewing even begins.

  • Nest cutting: Patterns are digitally nested so each roll yields the maximum number of pieces, reducing offcuts.
  • Offcut reuse: Smaller fabric scraps are sorted and reused for pocket bags, lining patches, sample making and accessories instead of being thrown away.
  • Made-to-order production: We produce against confirmed orders rather than stockpiling inventory, which dramatically reduces unsold, landfilled product.

3. Certifications we can stand behind

Labels mean nothing without audit. We hold and maintain:

  • Global Recycled Standard (GRS) — independently verified recycled content
  • OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 — tested for harmful substances, safe for skin
  • BSCI — social compliance audit covering wages, hours and worker welfare

We share audit reports with brand partners on request. If your brand has its own sustainability requirements, we build the collection around them rather than asking you to compromise.

4. People are part of the planet

Sustainability isn't only about fabrics — it's about the people who make the garments.

Fair wages, safe conditions and a stable workplace are not add-ons; they're the foundation of a responsible supply chain. When we talk about "People & Planet", we mean both.

5. What we're still working on

We're honest: no factory is perfect. The areas we're actively improving include:

  • Increasing the share of recycled content across more styles, not just the dedicated "eco line"
  • Reducing single-use plastic in poly bags and packaging
  • Measuring and reporting our own water and energy use, not just relying on mill data
