Blog: Why Double-Brushed Fleece Is the Smartest Winter Fabric for Your Activewear Brand

When customers pick up a fleece pullover, the first thing they do is squeeze it. If it feels thin, crunchy or plasticky, it goes back on the rack. If it feels like a cloud, it goes home with them.

What "double-brushed, double-looped" actually means

Most fleece is brushed on one side only. Our fleece is brushed on both sides and looped on the reverse — which means:

• The outside feels smooth and matte, not pilly.
• The inside is a deep, fluffy pile that traps warm air against your skin.
• Because the pile is on the inside, the fabric doesn't ball up after washes.

The result is a garment that looks expensive from the outside and feels like a blanket from the inside.

1. Warmth without the weight

One of the biggest complaints about winter activewear is that it's heavy. Our double-brushed polar fleece (95% Polyester / 5% Spandex) is lightweight enough for a morning jog but traps body heat through a process we call infrared heat retention — the hollow fibre structure reflects your body warmth back instead of letting it escape.

Customers get the warmth of a heavy sweater without the bulk of a heavy sweater.

2. Velvet-soft, from day one

We use a high-twist polyester yarn that gives the fleece a velvet hand feel the first time it's worn — not after ten washes. The 5% spandex content adds just enough stretch so the pullover moves with the body, not against it.

3. Anti-static, no cling

Cheap fleece is famous for crackling, sticking to tights and attracting every cat hair in the room. We treat our fleece with an anti-static finish so it wears smooth all day — indoors, outdoors, on the commute.

4. Breathable enough for real movement

Warmth shouldn't mean stuffy. The looped structure on the back side lets moisture escape, so the fabric breathes during light activity — perfect for walking, stretching, coffee runs and everyday layering.
